Library: Overview
The IUS library holds thousands of books and research papers covering a wide range of topics in urban studies, including geography, economics, housing, planning, sociology, urban design and social policy. The collection includes monographs, planning documents, government documents, periodicals, newsletters, reference works, grey literature, reports, statistics, and pamphlet files. The holdings may be searched online at our catalog. Students at any of the city’s major post-secondary campuses and members of community-based organizations may borrow from the collection.
If you can't find what you need at the IUS Library, you may want to search the catalogues of other Winnipeg-based collections related to the urban and natural environments. For more information, please visit the website of the Environmental Libraries of Manitoba, envirolibraries.mb.ca.
The IUS Library is open Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm. Feel free
to come in at any time. However, appointments are recommended
as staff may be working on IUS research projects or in meetings.
